“What does he look like? Or rather, do not tell me,” Eleanor said, as she turned back to the mirror quickly, fully dressed and ready to leave her room. The maid she had sent to catch a glimpse of her guest had returned, and she had not allowed the servant any word even though that had been what she was expecting. She turned back around again, “Does he at least look like a Duke?”

The maid looked from her to the other woman in the room, the governess.

“I doubt if she is the right person to ask the question, Miss. Strickland. You will know all that you need to when you go downstairs and see for yourself,” Celine said.

Eleanor exhaled. “You are right,” she nodded, and headed for the door that was opened.
